Abstract

222,045. Bingley, F., and Improved Sheetmetal Works, Ltd. March 21, 1924. Sectional book-cases.-Expanding book-cases built up of parts of two kinds are made of sheet metal. The upright members have their edges c, d bent to flattened tubular form and are provided with slots &c. stamped out at both sides, for engagement by lugs on the shelf members. The slots at one side are differently spaced from those at the other, the lugs at opposite ends of the shelves being correspondingly spaced. As shown, rows of four slots are provided, to engage depending lugs n secured to the shelves j, the inner slots f, g being stamped out to one side of the upright and the outer slots h, i to the other side. Projections o are provided at the upper ends of the uprights to enter the tubular portions c, d of a superposed upright. Perforated lugs p are provided for attachment of the case to a wall &c., or for the attachment of strengthening rods (not shown), when the book-case is intended to stana.
