Description

TITLE A Double-purpose Milling Machine Of Which Lateral With Vertical Main Shaft To Perform Longitudinel Displacement.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Conventional milling machine in vertical/horizontal double-purpose device commonly comprises a supporting arm of cutter bar to support horizontal cutter bar and vertical main shaft with independent power is furnished on the other end of supporting arm of cutter bar. Supporting arm of cutter bar is attached to a rotary base which can together with machine body perform a rotation of angular displacement. Henceforth, during a practical performance, it can only display vertical or horizontal situation but fails to be performed in both vertical and horizontal situations simultaneously for process.This invention relates to a horizontal supporting arm of cutter bar of which lateral is additionally furnished with guide rail coupling a vertical cutter shaft with independent power, and thereby can perform to and fro displacement as well as enables milling machine to be available to succeed vertical/ horizontal processing for specific works without adjusting application of machine embodiment so as to proceed in production.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Fig. 1 is a diagramatic view of a practical example of a doublepurpose milling machine of which lateral with vertical main shaft to perform longitudinal displacement. Fig. 2 is a sectional view of Fig.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Milling machine takes a major role in machinery process. Vertical milling machine is commonly used for plane cutting or drilling, boring or cutting lateral face. Horizontal milling machine is used for cutting slot or employing different-diameter blades cutting for multiple faces in different heights. The vertical/horizontal double-purpose type is designed for flexible application and saving the cost, and by way of adjustment, people may choose one of them.
This design case relates to a new design for a basic structure of this vertical/horizontal double-purpose milling machine in order to obtain the 3rd application form between the vertical and horizontal double purposes, which furtherly enables vertical/horizontal doublepurpose milling machine to be available for performing vertical/horizontal production process continuously.The major idea of this design as shown in Fig. 1,2, is a diagramatic view of a practical example of double-purpose milling machine of which lateral with a vertical main shaft to perform longitudinal displacement, in which, top portion 100 of horizontal milling machine embodiment with supporting arm of cutter bar 101 is available for to and fro adjustment, and installment of supporting base of cutter bar 102 in order to support horizontal cutter bar 103 and horizontal cutter 104 to perform horizontal cutting process.
The main characteristics lie in: on a lateral (incl. top portion or two laterals) of supporting arm 101 of cutter bar, a slide rail 105 coupling vertical main shaft set 106 with independent power, and by way of motor 108 or manpower, to drive guide screw 107 (or the other linear-displacement machine or fluid embodiment) for adjusting the position of to and fro displacement or feeding the cutter or being locked on guide rail, vertical cutting shaft and horizontal cutter are installed in non-interruption location so as to obtain the following efficiency: (1) Drilling or boring process for the finished works done by horizon tal cutter.
(2) Perform top, plane processing for the finished works done by horizontal cutter.
(3) Feed cutter to perform plane or deep-slot cutting for the finished works done by horizontal cutter.
(4) The other.
In order to save structural costs and meet an occasion without frequent adjustment, the sliding position and lockage between the aforesaid independent-drive main shaft structure and supporting arm of vertical cutter bar can be directly coupled without drive element but pushed by manpower as shown in Fig. 3, a solid view of a practical example of the structure direct-pushing type independent main shaft.
As above-mentioned, this design relates to an invention which is available to reach vertical and horizontal double-purpose function.

Claims (3)

CLAIM
1. A horizontal milling machine, in which, the top portion of embodiment is furnished with supporting arm of horizontal cutter bar which is available for to and fro adjustment and installment of supporting base of cutter base in order to support horizontal cutter to perform horizontal cutting process. The main characteristics lie in: on a lateral (incl. top portion or two laterals) of supporting arm of cutter bar, a slide rail coupling vertical main shaft set, and by way of motor or manpower, to drive guide screw (or the other linear-displacement machine or fluid embodiment) for adjusting the position of to and fro displacement or feeding cutter or being locked on guide rail; vertical cutting shaft and horizontal cutter are installed in non-interruption location so as to perform processing displacement and cutting respectively for the works.
Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows 1. A milling machine including a cutter assembly, means for mounting the cutter assembly on a support arm which is carried on a pedestal, and a table for supporting a workpiece, the means for mounting the cutter assembly on the support arm including a drive mechanism for displacing the cutter assembly relative to at least the workpiece or the table.
2. A machine according to Claim 1 wherein the table includes means for mounting a vice thereon and displacement of the table to effect milling of a workpiece supported in the table.
3. A horizontal milling machine, in which, the top portion of embodiment is furnished with supporting arm of horizontal cutter bar which is available for to and fro adjustment and installment of supporting base of cutter base in order to support horizontal cutter to perform horizontal cutting process. The main characteristics lie in: on a lateral (including top portion or two laterials) of supporting arm of cutter bar, a slide rail coupling vertical main shaft set, and by way of motor or manpower, to drive guide screw (or the other linear-displacement machine or fluid embodiment) for adjusting the position of to and fro displacement or feeding cutter or being locked on guide rail; vertical cutting shaft and horizontal cutter are installed in non-interruption location so as to perform processing displacement and cutting repsectively for the works.
