Abstract

220,849. Benoit, A. L. Oct. 26, 1923. Treating-materials; aerating; plant.-Acid and basic waste liquids are mixed to form a practically neutral mixture, which on its way to a collecting tank is treated with air or other oxygen-containing gas. Different liquids from pipes 1, 2, 3 are mixed by a centrifugal pump 4 and passed through a conduit 7 to a tank 8 which has outlets 12, 13, 14 for scum, purified liquid and sediment respectively. The pipe 7 is provided with nozzles 11, with open ends extending in the direction of flow so that air is drawn in and mixed with the liquid.
