TWO PART HANDLE FOR HAND TOOLS Prior art hand tools have handles with a variety of forms including bulbous, straight and 'T' shaped. Although the bit attached to the handle is generally suitable for the job the operator wishes to do, the handle may be inappropriate due to lack of space available to operate it.

The present invention provides a handle for hand tools which will allow maximum torque to be applied to the bit where space permits but which provides for part of the handle to be removed in cases where space to operate the handle is limited.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT With reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Fig 1 is a perspective view of a 'push on - pull off' 'T' bar adjustment for a hand tool.

Fig 2 is a perspective view of a hand tool with a handle adapted to accommodate a 'T' bar of Fig 1.

Fig 3 is a perspective drawing of the 'T' bar 1 of Fig 1 assembled to the hand tool of Fig In Fig I the 'T' bar 1, is injection moulded, conveniently in glass fibre reinforced nylon and having hole 2, which is hexagonal.

In Fig 2, the bit 3, of the hand tool 4, is attached tc, a handle 5. Handle 5 is hexagonal and adapted so as to be received intimately but removably into the hole 2, of 'T' bar 1, of Fig 1.

Handle 5 is attached to bit 3, by insertion of the latter into an injection mould specially adapted to receive it and to mould the handle.

In Fig 3 it can be seen that handle 5, has a circumferential stop 6, to limit the extent of engagement of 'T' bar 1.

Claims (1)

1) The hand tool, wherein is provided the first element of a handle adapter SO as to engage a second handle element, itself adapted to receive intimately but removably an engagement means or the first element.
