Abstract

219,939. Jackson, S. O. July 31, 1923, [Convention date]. Picks.-An implement for use in breaking up hard subsoil on cultivated land' consists of relatively narrow blade B attached to a shaft G and formed with a weened portion A adapted to act as a fulcrum when a levering action is exerted on the tool after the blade has been driven into the ground. A reinforcing rib C is provided on the portion A which is on the side of the shaft opposite to the blade B and serves to give the implement the desired weight to carry the blade point well into the hard subsoil. The point F of the blade B may be made wider than the remainder and its edge is perpendicular to the blade length.
