Abstract
An apparatus for ensuring maximum safety of the relief operation of storage batteries and charging apparatus in transformer stations and power plants includes a charging unit (2) connected with an alternating current supply source (1) and provided with rectifier, filter and voltage regulator, and an accumulator (4) connected in parallel with the charging unit (2). Between each output (2.1) of the charging unit (2) and each output (4.1) of the battery (4) is inserted an input (3.1, 3.2) of a decoupling unit (3) which completely separates the battery (4) from the output of the apparatus when the supply voltage is applied. An output of the decoupling unit (3) forms the output (3.3) of the apparatus.
