Abstract

Target apparatus for dart games based on other games or sports comprises a framed backboard 10 releasably mounting dartboards approriate to the chosen game or sport. Illustrated dartboards 12-14 are appropriate to snooker and feature target areas 15 in the form of removable and reversible cylinders. Opposite ends of each cylinder are differently coloured, so that manually reversing a cylinder provided an indication that it has already been hit. The dartboards may be reversible. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Wall hung competitive games for 1 or more players This invention relates to wall hung games played with darts.
The game of darts is a well known traditional game where darts are thrown from a defined distance into a circular board hung on a wall opposite the player.
Dart boards however, are laid out in a form which allows one only game to be played on a static face.
This invention however, enables a variety of games to be played on an interchangable back board which interlinks the rules of a variety of field and indoor sports with the skill of dart throwing.
According to the present invention there is a back panel with a stiff frame surround. Separate, multi-shaped boards to represent the game being played at the time, are secured to the back panel. These multi-shaped boards are also designed to be easily detachable to enable other games to be interchanged.
The dart scoring targets are constructed from metal tubes which are packed full of suitable material to hold the dart after it has struck the target.
The tubular targets are set in strategic positions in holes in the multi-shaped boards.
When the objective target is struck the dart is removed and the appropriate score allocated.
The tube target is then removed from the multi-shaped board, reversed, then replaced into the multi-shaped board. The reversed tube end is colour coded to indicate that it has been struck and is therefore now eliminated from any further scoring.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows a perspective gameboard fully laid out ready for one game to commence (the game illustrated is snooker) Figure 2 illustrates a section through on arrows 'A-A' in Fig. 1. The multi-shaped boards can be clearly seen against the cross hatched back board with its opposite cross hatching view of the stiff surround frame.
Figure 3 shows a section through on arrows 'B-B' in Fig. 1. The target, steel tube is illustrated in its first position i.e. red colour coded end facing away from its recipient multishaped holder.
Figure 4 shows a section through as Fig. 3, but with the steel target tube in its second position i.e. green colour coded end facing away from its recipient multi-shaped holder thus indicating a non scoring mode.
Referring to the drawing, the game comprises a rectangular back board 10 approximately. 580mm wide x 930 mm high, held in a stiff outer frame surround 11.
A variety of multi-shaped boards 12, 13 and 14 are attached to the back board into which a variable number of steel is target tubes are strategically placed. These tubes are filled with a suitable material which will capture the spike of a dart when thrown in a direct hit. When a direct hit achieved, it is registered by removing the hit target tube from its housing, reversing the target tube to display a nominated colour code and relocating the reversed tube in its respective housing. The appropriate score is awarded and the game proceeds to its conclustion. Individual rules (not formulated here) are followed to suit the choice of game in current play.
1. Wall hung competetive games for one or more players comprising a back board and surrounding frame. The back board is equiped to accept multi-shaped boards to fit on and off same. A variable number of steel target tubes are housed into the multi-shaped boards and are designed to be removed, reversed and re-placed into same as rules of game dictates.
2. Wall hung competetive games as described in claim 1 wherein multi-shaped boards are provided co-operable with the back board and equiped to be reversed.
3. Wall hung competetive games as decribed in claim 1 and 2 wherein steel target tubes are provided to be housed in multishaped back boards, and equiped to be reversed.
4. Wall hung competetive games as described herein with reference to Figs. 1-4 inc.
of the accompanying drawing.
