Abstract
218,913. Soc. pour la Fabrication de la Soie Rhodiaseta. Aug. 24, 1923, [Convention date]. Apparatus for making filaments.-Each cell 1 of a machine for spinning artificial silk &c. more especially from solutions of cellulose acetate in alcohol-acetone and in which the spinning-die or sets of spinning-dies 7<a> are placed in the upper part of the cell, is provided with a funnel-shaped element 11 at the lower part and at the apex of which is the orifice 12 by which the thread is led out of the cell. The internal surface of the element 11 is polished in order to assist the passage of the filaments to the outlet, and the latter is of bronze and in two parts, one of which is carried by a door 14 giving access to the filaments. The cell is provided with jackets 2, 2a through which hot water is circulated in series or independently so as to obtain equal or different temperatures in different parts of the cell. The spinning-dies 7a are mounted on a head 7 which is carried by a tube 8 passing through a stuffing-box 9 in such manner that the head may be rotated to enable all parts thereof to be brought in front of the inspection door 19. An inspection window 20 is provided in the upper part of the cell, and below the cell is placed a waste-roller 18. The threads are normally carried to a delivery apparatus 17.
