Abstract

218,181. Lageer, W. E. Nov. 17, 1923. Wheels and axles, arrangement of; shafts.-A hand-propelled vehicle of the nature of a jinricksha comprises a frame formed of tubular members connected and cross-connected by sleeve connectors such as 9, 11, Fig. 1, the members projecting forwardly to form shafts 2, 3. A cross-frame is provided so that the axle may have two wheels 42, 43 mounted thereon, or a centre wheel only when the vehicle is used on a narrow track in which case guiding handles 15 at the rear are provided. The axle is housed in a cross-frame comprising sleeves 17, 18, Fig. 2 the inner ends of which are connected by an arched portion in- 'tended to embrace the centre wheel when such is used. The outer wheels 42, 43, are mounted on the ends of the axle and are housed in arched portions 19 of the frame.
