Abstract

218,007. Holroyd, J., and Bennett, S. J. Dec. 27, 1923. Circular machines. - A device for supplying a new thread to a circular knitting-machine in the event of main yarn failure comprises a bracket C secured to the machine and provided with a pivoted lever 2 retained as shown in Fig. 3 by the main yarn b the failure of which allows the lever to rotate by gravity to the position shown in dotted lines, thereby placing a new thread 7 in a position to be seized by the feed device. The main yarn b passes through fixed guide-eyes 4, 4<a> over a notch c in the lever end, round a guidehook 5 and through the lower end of a slot d in the bracket C to the feed device, the auxiliary thread 7 normally passing under a retarding lever 3 through a hole f in the lever end and thence through the upper end of the slot d to a clip 9 where it is clear of the feeding, devices.
