Abstract
An envelope has two edge portions 6,7 which are folded to interengage by gripping without adhesive, and are maintained in this position by flaps 3 each of which has two gummed strips 4,5. The flaps 3 are initially secured to the envelope back which is defined by the portions 6,7, by the gummed strips 4 only. Subsequent cutting of flaps 3 along line 8 enables the envelop to be opened flat and re-folded oppositely for re-use. The inside of the envelope may carry a return address. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
Postal envelope
This invention relates two a postal envelope. It is an envelope folded from a sheet of paper witch can be used as erturning envelope as well as envelope-letter.
It is only a folded bag which no need sticking in manufacturing most of the common envelopes are bag envelope which made by sticking paper to bag and be used only onetime.
Information transfer are increasing rapidly nowadays. Therefore the returning letters are need to be promptly and correctly dealt with. Many documents and letters go and back between offices. Writing returning envelopes become a heavy and boring job.
We really need some kind of ready-printed returning envelope for easily, promptly, correctly answering letters.
manydesigns have been made in this field. Some designs are very complecated For example, Jonas
Greenwald filed a design of returning envelope in 1979 (US 4,305,506). It contain two envelopes, an inside returning envelope be put into the outside envelop. This structure wast paper and not easy to be manufacture.
If we can use both side of an envelope and design some kind of envelope can be reversed inside out and used again, we can solvethis problem. Thuswe de- sign this folded returning envelope.
1.Tubbing method
General envelopes are sticked to form a tube then sealed at two ends of the paper tube. The difference of ourdesignisthatthetubeisfolded.Therearetwo folding methods.
(1) Single grip-fold Wefoldthe oppodite sidesofa sheetof paperand grip them together (as shown in Figure 1 )
(2) Double grip-fold
When we finish single grip-fold, turn the grip in the direction shown in Figure 2, for 180, we get double grip-fold.
2. Envelope
Cutting a sheet of paper into the shape of Figure 3.
In Figure3: 1 ,2---folded ends ofthe grip
3---sealingcover 4---first sticktape
5---second stick tape (for returning envelope)
6,7---back of the envelope.
We fold down 1 and fold up 2, as shown in Figure 4, then fold 6,7 up, gripthefolded ends 1,2, we getthe form of Figure 5. Folding sealing cover 3, we getthe form of Figure 5. Folding sealing cover3, we getthe envelope shown in Figure 6. then we stickthefirst stick tape 4.
3. Usages
When you receive the envelope, cut the sealing covers 3 along line 8, as shown in Figure 6, open the cover as Figure 7, unfold it as Figure 8. There are two usages The first is envelope-letter, in this case, we can read the letter which writen at inside ofthe envelope.
The second is returning envelope, the returning address is writen at inside face of the envelope. When receiving the letter, you can unfold it as explained above and reverse fold it, fold down 6,7 and grip the ends as shown in Figure 11, put in returning tetteras shown in Figure 13. Stick second sticktape 5, you can post it back.
It also can be used as design of invitation card, gift card and other posts.
Official envelope can be printed with office address at double face, one side is post address and the other side is returning address.
