Abstract
The paint kettle has a removable/disposable liner 2 in the form of a shell designed to fit into and provide a protective sheathing to the inner surface of the kettle 1. The liner is of compatible dimensions to suit the various configurations of shape and size of kettles in general use. The liner may be made of aluminium or metal foil derivatives, foil backed or solvent resisting paper based materials, or plastics based derivatives. <IMAGE>

SPECIFICATION
Paint kettle liner
This invention relates to a removable/disposable inner liner for a paint kettle.
The paint kettle as used by the painting, decorating and allied professions and the home decorating (D.I.Y.) market is used for carrying paint after decanting from the manufacturers original container.
The kettle is a round cylindrical receptacle with straight or tapered sides incorporating a single basket type handle. It is generally manufactured from steel by a spun, rolled or pressed process and may be galvanised steel plated. Certain types are also manufactured in plastic.
The kettle is generally available in a range of sizes from small to large, according to its holding capacity. Alternatively its size may be expressed as a dimension of width or depth.
A disadvantage with the paint kettle however is that it requires periodic cleaning to avoid a build up of solidified paint which can only be removed by softening with a suitable solvent and then scraping out or by burning out with a naked flame.
Apart from being time consuming the toxic nature of certain paints make this an undesirable practice. Scraping or burning will also damage the inner surface of the kettle thus exacerbating the problem when further cleaning is required.
According to the present invention there is to be provided a removable/disposable liner 2 in the form of a shell to provide a protective sheathing to the inner surface of the paint kettle.
The liner will be used in conjunction with the paint kettle and will therefore be of comparable dimension to suit the various configurations of shape and size of kettle in general use.
Consideration will be given to any suitably proven material for fabrication of the liner including:
Aluminium or metal foil derivatives.
Foil backed or solvent resisting paper based materials.
Plastic based derivatives.
CLAIM
A removable/disposable liner 2 in the form of a shell fabricated from any suitable material and designed to fit into and provide a protective sheathing to the inner surface of a paint kettle 1.
