Abstract

216,962. Automatic Scale Co., Ltd., and Blick, E. L. March 15, 1923. Pendulum-weight apparatus.-Two pendulous resistants are provided, disposed at right-angles to each other. As shown in Fig. 2, the weigh beam 4, carrying a pendulum weight 4a, is carried by knife-edges 5, and is provided with an arm 8 having a bearing cup 9. The second pendulum carried by a lever 17 having a bearing cup 18 and carrying an indicating pointer 10. A link 19 connects the cups 9, 18, pivots 21, 22 being provided. A balance weight 15 is adjustablv mounted on a screwed rod 16 carried bv the lever 17. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the pointer 32 is situated approximately above the bearings 24 of the weigh beam 23, and is carried by a rod 29 having bearings 31, the rod 29 being arranged parallel to the beam 23. The indicating pointer may be arranged below the weigh beam. According to the first Provisional Specification the object of the invention is to avoid inaccuracy @wing to the scale being tilted.
