Abstract

216,764. Collins, T. B. Sept. 21, 1923. Observation devices for ovens.-An inspection panel is fitted in a bakers' oven door, the pane being held in a recessed frame 4 secured to the door by screws 6 and a flap 14, hinged by the pin 16 to the frame 4 and secured by a turnbutton 12, protects the pane. A sliding protecting flap may be employed. In a modification, Fig. 7, an elliptical opening 20 in the door casting 19 is closed by a pane 22 held between asbestos or like washers and secured by a ring 25 screwed at 26 to the door. In Fig. 11, an elliptical flanged member 31 is secured to the door by screws 32, the pane 35 being held between washers 36, 37 retained in position by a spring 42 and an inwardly flanged screwed cover 39.
