Abstract

215,953. Young, J. H., and Robertson Co., H. H. May 8, 1923. Coating.-Metal articles, either rigid or flexible, and made of a corrodible metal such as iron or steel, are provided with a protective covering consisting of a layer of asphalt or like bituminous material enveloping the said article and a relatively thin foil of relatively non-corrodible metal adhesively fixed to the metal article bv the said bituminous material. The sheets c of non-corrodible metal such as copper, zinc, and aluminium, may be applied to the opposite surfaces and sides of the article a covered with bituminous material b so as to overlap, as shown.
