Abstract
A search device for localizing subterranean fixpoint markers of the resonant type is provided with an emitter system (20, 38) of generally vertical orientation and a receiver system (22, 44, 46, 48), which is mounted in the near field of the emitter system orthogonally thereto. In use, the receiver system is horizontally oriented, whereby it will produce a minimum or zero reading whenever its mid-normal intersects with the electromagnetic axis of the marker, in the near field of the marker, and a very high localization accuracy is obtainable hereby.
