Abstract
215,576. Drager, A. B. May 14, 1923. Respirators. - A device for supporting breathing apparatus on the body comprises an upper part b and a saddle-shaped lower part a extending partly round the sides of the body. The device is secured by a belt d and shoulder-straps e. A partition g is provided between the upper and lower parts to prevent radiation of heat from the purifying cartridge p to the breathing bag s. The oxygen cylinder f is secured to the saddle. The upper part is offset rearwardly so as not to hamper movement of the shoulders. The upper part b may be hinged to the lower part and is in that case arched. The device may be cast in steel or made of sheet metal.
