Abstract

214,797. Thompson & Norris Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Minch, H. March 14, 1923. Corrugated paper; corrugating apparatus.-In reinforcing corrugated fibre board used for making folded boxes, separate reinforcing strips or tapes of paper, cloth, or the like are applied to fhe board during manufacture and before the board is cut, slotted, scored or otherwise treated. In the apparatus shown, the cardboard is corrugated and provided with a backing A<4>. Reinforcing strips C are gummed at F<2> and applied to the backing A<4>, and a facing A<5> applied. The sheet so produced is then slotted at X, Fig. 2, scored at Z, and the blanks cut off and provided with an adhesive strip B. The reinforcing strips are used on the inside of the box.
