Abstract
213,934. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Unland, H. L.). April 7, 1923, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Heating by electricity.-An electric steam generator which may be of the type described in Specification 193,405 is provided with concentric cylindrical members N, N', which form an electrode chamber 19 between them and serve as neutral terminals, a plurality of concentric cylindrical electrodes A, B, C, being arranged in the chamber 19. The electrodes and the members N, N<1> are perforated, as shown, and a pump 20 continually circulates the water through the boiler. The electrodes are mounted on grooved insulators 29 and are connected to a three-phase system by leads 31. The distance between the electrode B and the electrodes A, C is greater than the distance between the electrodes A, C and th members N, N<1>, so as to maintain a uniform current density.
