Abstract
A folding cardboard box (11) is provided with an inner bag liner (12) consisting of a plastic film which is optionally laminated with aluminium foil. The liner is subdivided by at least one partition (13) into several compartments (14, 15) for the separate storage of bags containing chemicals which react with one another when mixed. The packaging material for the chemical containing bags preferably consists of a water-soluble foil material. The narrow side walls of the folding box and the partition are provided with respective folding grooves (18, 19) which permit storage of the lined box in a flattened condition. <IMAGE>

SPECIFICATION
Inner bag pack for packaging two or more different chemicals reacting with one another
The invention relates to an inner bag pack for packaging two or more different chemicals reacting with one another, which pack consists of an outer cardboard wrapper in the form of a folding box and of an inner bag consisting of a plastic film, optionally laminated with another material, such as, for example, an aluminium foil, and formed from a parison, and which is initially delivered in the laid-flat state to the packaging station and is only there set up, filled and sealed.
In certain fields of application, chemicals are used, which immediately before their use, are mixed together from different substances and consumed.
In most cases, these substances react with one another, so that it is necessary to pack them separately from one another and to delivery them to the consumer or user in this state.
Hitherto, it was customary to pack substances of this type in two or optionally more separate packages. This procedure has proved to be disadvantageous, so that there is a desire to be able to offer the substances packed in a single package. In this case, however, it is important that the substances, even if they are packed separately by themselves in bags, are kept separate from one another. The separation must be absolutely secure in order to avoid undesired reactions of the substances with one another. Under certain circumstances, the bags, in which the substances are packed, may here not even be in mutual contact.The risk of the occurrence of undesired mixing and of reactions is present in particular if the bags containing the chemicals consist, with a veiw to simple handling when the chemicals are used, of a material which is watersoluble or, due to the influence of moisture, loses its structure and function and which has a correspondingly lower resistance to stresses in transport than other suitable packaging materials which could otherwise be used.
It is the object of the invention to provide an individual pack in which the two or more substances under consideration are packed together and which ensures that direct contact of the substances or of their wrappings is prevented. This pack must be tight, in particular moisture-tight, and sealable and it must be possible to deliver it in the laid-flat state to the packaging station.
To achieve this object, it is proposed according to the invention to construct an inner bag pack of the type in question in such a way that, in the inner bag, there is at least one partition which divides the interior of the bag into adjoining part chambers receiving the chemicals wrapped by packaging materials which dissolve especially under the influence of moisture, and which is fixed by means of two tabs to two mutually opposite wall surfaces of the inner bag. This partition has the same height as the folding box surrounding the Inner bag.The manu-- fracture ef such an inner bag pack is carried out in the conventional manner known per se, in which morally the partition is inserted before the formation of the inner bag parison and, during the formation ofthe parison, is joined by its two tabs to the insides of the parison or bag.
Advantageously, both the partition located in the inner bag and the side walls of the package, parallel to the partition, are provided, along their centre line, with a folding groove which extends over the height of the partition and along which the side walls in question and the partition are folded in the laid-flat state of the pack. For the purpose of filling the pack, the latter is set up in the customary manner, the bottom of the inner bag is formed and then the bottom of the cardboard wrapper is formed. After the bags.with the substances or chemicals concerned have been inserted into the part chambers of the interior of the inner bag of the pack, which part chambers are divided from one another by the partitions to the full height of the pack, the pack is closed likewise in the customary manner.
If it should be necessary to provide for an even more definite screening of the part chambers of the inner bag from one another, the partitions can additionally also be provided with a bottom flap and coverflap hinged thereto.
In Figures 1 and 2 of the drawing the inner bag pack constructed according to the invention is represented by reference to a preferred illustrative embodiment which is more fully described in detail below.
As can be seen from Figure 1 of the drawing, the outerfolding box 11 of cardboard contains an inner bag 12 the interior of which is subdivided by means of the partition 13 into the two part chambers 14 and 15 which each receive one of the bags filled with chemicals. The partition 13 is joined, for example, glued, sealed or welded, by means of the two tabs 16 to the inner wall of the inner bag 12.
In order to enable the pack to be transported in the flat state before it is filled, the partition 13 and also the side walls 17, parallel thereto, of the folding box 11 contain longitudinal grooves 18 and 19 respectively, along which the said walls are folded in, as can be seen in Figure 2 which shows a cross-section through the laid-flat pack.
Advantageously, the film parison for forming the inner bag 12 is, in the region of its bottom end, closed by means of a sealing orwelding seam and is fixed at least spotwise at the lower end to the inner walls of the folding box. As a result of this, the bottom of the pack is automatically formed when the folding box is set up, so that fewer manual operations are necessary than is otherwise customary.
It will of course be understood that the present invention has been described above purely by way of example, and modifications of detail can be made within the scope and spirit of the invention.

Claims (5)
1. Inner bag pack for packaging two or more~ different chemicals reacting with one another, con sisting of an outer cardboard wrapper in the form of a folding box and of an inner bag which consists of a plastic film, optionally laminated with another mats= rial, for example an aluminium foil, is formed from a parison and receives the chemicals, characterised in that, in the inner bag (12), there is at least one partition (13) which divides the interior of the bag into adjoining part chambers (14, 15) receiving the chemicals wrapped by packaging materials which dissolve especially under the influence of moisture, and which is fixed by means of two tabs (16), to two mutually opposite wall surfaces of the inner bag (12).

Inner bag pack according to Claim 1,characte- rised in that the narrow side walls (17) of the folding box (11) and the partitions (13), parallel to these side walls, in the inner bag (12) have, along their centre line, a folding groove (18, 19) which extends overthe height of the pack and along which, before the pack is setup, the side walls (17) are folded outwards and the partitions (13) are folded to one side or the other.
3. Inner bag pack according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the partitions (13) are provided at their upper and/or lower end with a bottom flap or coverflap respectively.
4. Inner bag pack according to Claim 1, 2 or 3, characterised in that the inner bag (12) is, in the region of its bottom, closed by means of a sealing or welding seam and is fixed at least spotwise at the lower end to the inner walls ofthe folding box.
5. Inner bag pack substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to Figures 1 and 2 of the drawings.
