Reservoir pens.-In a self-filling reservoir pen, the piston packing is replaced by a loose rubber ring 3 which rolls between the inner surface of the barrel and the piston 2 or an inner tube acting as a piston. Means, such as a screw cap, may be employed for holding the piston in the inward position. In the case of a pen provided with a fixed central tube 8, the inner end of the piston is formed with a conical recess adapted to close the end of the tube. The central rod mounted in some pens may be used to retain the piston in place' or to limit its movement. Specification 6570/15 is referred to.
