Abstract

213,084. Hunt, A. H. Feb. 20, 1923. Regulating switches. - A variable rheostat comprises a disc of paper treated with black lead, graphite or similar material held between two sheets of ebonite a, b. Studs secured to the lower sheet a pass through apertures in the sheet b and engage the contact-arm e of a rotarv multiple-way switch. The disc of paper may be completely and evenly covered with graphite &c. or the studs may be connected by a progressively thickening curved line of graphite o, Fig 4. When higher resistances are required a fine wavv line of graphite &c. may be traced on the paper between the studs.
