Abstract

A trouser type garment has its zip or other fastening means extending from waist level at the front, down beyond the crutch and continuing up the seat of the garment to waist level at the rear, for practical reasons of access. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Separating trouser type garment for access without removal This invention relates to a trouser type garment that separates into two or more separate pieces (which may or may not be held together by a waistband) and which may be releasable by the use of one or more zip fasteners, pop studs, buttons, velcro, or the like. By "trousers type garment" we include not only short and long trousers, but also any garments designed for wear around the abdomen and crutch, e.g. swimsuits, briefs etc.
As a particular example, a person dressing with the said garment would fasten the waistband closure then fasten the zip, pop studs or buttons which extend from the waistband closure beyond the crutch and continues along the seat of the trousers to meet the rear waistband or completely opens the waistband.
The garment maybe made from an infinite variety of fabrics ranging from denim or cord material to silk PVC or other man made material and may be applied to a numerous range of style of clothing including dungarees, shorts, knicker bockers, cullotts, overalls cat suits and industrial clothing.
Embodiments of the invention will now be described by way of examples with reference to accompanying drawings.
Figure 1A and B show the trousers from the front and rear fastened.
Figure 1 C and D show the trousers with the zip unfastened illustrating how a person wearing said garment may gain access to the genital and anal areas without necessitating complete removal or lowering of the said garment. This makes urination, defecation, copulation and access to genital and anal areas possible without removal or lowering said garment.
The users will find ease during use of lavatories where complete removal or lowering of clothing is not desired. Users who need more frequent use of lavatory i.e. pregnant women and sick people will also find use of this garment beneficial.
Urination, defecation during outdoor activities where public conveniences are not within reach and removing or lowering of clothing is not desired will find said garment an advantage.
Outdoor and Industrial worktime maybe considerably shortened when said invention is implemented.
In children's wear, for changing of underwear, cleaning, defecation, urination this type of garment will save time and be more convenient as in Figure 3.
Its use in hospitals may extend to urination, defecation ease while changing or cleaning patients.
Access to genital and anal areas and any application where removal is not desired or is difficult due to pain or disability i.e. vaginal anal examinations giving of injections.
Another feature of the invention is that they may divide into more than two separate pieces facilitating conversion into briefs, shorts, knee length breeches and various other combinations as in Figure 4 Items ABCDE.
Any trouser type garment with releasable fastening may be fitted with the aforementioned invention rendering it unfastenable from the front via the crutch to the back.
CLAIMS (Filed on 17th Sept. '83) 1. A trouser type garment having its zip or other fastening means extending from waist level at the front, down beyond the crutch and continuing up the seat of the garment to waist level at the rear.
2. A garment as claimed in claim 1, in which the fastening means, upon undoing, separates the garment into two separate pieces.
3. A garment as claimed in claim 1, including a waistband holding together two pieces into which the garment is separated upon undoing the fastening means.
