Abstract
211,004. Contractors Machinery Co., Ltd., and Hey, A. M. Feb. 23, 1923. Lifts.-In cage or platform hoists for use during building, the head carrying the guiding and hoisting cables is readily disassembled in order that it may be moved to a higher floor as the building progresses. Each side of the head comprises two uprights d of channel section riveted, and also connected by stays, to horizontal angle irons d<1>, d<3>. Four channel irons d<5> carrying pulleys K, D', I are bolted together at the centre and to the uprights d. The hoisting rope G passes over the pulleys K, I and is then passed round a swivelling guide pulley F mounted in the base plate A to a winch H. The guide ropes E are secured by bolts to the base plate and are passed round pulleys D' to winches J mounted on the uprights d. The cage B is formed of skeleton girder work and carries antifriction rollers b<1>, Fig. 11, engaging the guides.
