Abstract

210,990. Glossop, W. Feb. 14, 1923. Surface treatment with liquid materials.- A constant distance is maintained between the tar. sprayer 17 and the road surface when the chassis of the vehicle rises and. falls on the springs due to changes of load, by connecting the pivoted sprayer-supporting arm 19 to the chassis by a link 27 and bell-crank lever 22'. The arm 21 of the bell crank is connected with the wheel axle by a nut 24 and screwed rod 25. The position of the sprayer relatively to the road surface can be initially adjusted by turning the screwed rod by a handle 26, the linkage serving to maintain this position as the chassis rises and falls.
