Relay actions. - In actions comprising cams adapted, when released by the keys, to engage a driving-member, the cams receive an initial impulse from the keys and are thereby rapidly brought into engagement with the driving-member. Cams 7, mounted on action-slides 8, are retained by latches 4 and the keys 1 operate links 2 having projections 11 for engaging projections 12 on the cams. On depressing the keys, the links release the latches, and then cause engagement of the cams with a rotary-member 6. the slides being thereby moved to the right. The latches are retained by means of springs 9, and arrest the cams after they have performed one revolution. The cams raise the links 2 to permit return of the latches. Two banks of cams may co-operate with separate driving-members.
