Abstract

209,939. McCulloch, J., and Beecroft, T. Jan. 11, 1923. Reversing - gearing. - To rotate a shaft 14 in alternately opposite directions from a shaft 52 a disc 113 is secured to the latter shaft having a central recess 14, the diameter of which is greater than the length of a collar 110 that rotates with the shaft 14 and is caused to slide therealong into contact with one or other of the faces 115, 116 of the disc, the sliding movement being controlled by movement of a tappet-shaft 15 through a lever 119 that engages a circumferential groove in the collar 110. The movement of the tappet-shaft is derived from means independent of the device.
