A hollow toilet seat 1 (e.g. of metal or plastics) contains air, water, oil or other fluid which is heated by an electric element 2 controlled by a thermostat 6. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
Improvements in or relating to toilet covers
This invention relates to toilet covers, the term "cover" being used in this specification to mean that part of a toilet which is intended to be sat on during use.
According to one aspect of the invention, there is provided a W.C. toilet cover, characterised by that its hollow interior is provided with a fluid heated by an electric resistor, whereby the cover attains a temperature such that the human body may touch the said cover without any discomfort being caused.
According to a second aspect, there is provided a toilet cover comprising a channel means adapted to contain a fluid within the cover and a supply means for the supply of a heated fluid to the channel means.
Preferably the supply means comprises an electrical resistance heating element.
Suitably the supply means comprises a fluid connection adapted to be connected to an external source of heated fluid.
Brief Description of the Drawings
The figures attached to the present specification show an illustrative embodiment of the invention, but the invention is by no means limited in this said embodiment.
Fig. 1 shows a plan view of the toilet cover according to the invention, where the thermal resistance and the heated fluid contained therein, are shown.
Fig. 2 shows a perspective view of a toilet basin, provided with a cover according to the invention.
Detailed Description of the Invention
The following detailed description of the object of the invention comprises an illustrative form of the invention and does not limit the rights claimed for the invention. Any modifications relating to the design, size or shape of the object of the invention, which do not comprise a new invention are by all means considered to be included in the aims and scope of the present invention.
The invented cover (I) is made from stainless steel, aluminium, plastic or any other suitable material. The cover has the conventional shape, but it is hollow and contains the heated fluid (3).
This fluid may be water, oil, air or any other fluid medium.
If air or oil is used, then the interior of the cover is filled with air or oil respectively through the opening (7).
If the fluid used is water, and the invented system is going to be installed in a place provided with hot water supply from a boiler or from the radiator, this water may be used to flow within the cover, or otherwise the cover may be filled with water in the same way as above
A resistor (2) of suitable intensity, such that the fluid contained may be heated to a suitable temperature, is placed at the back end of the
cover.
The temperature of the fluid contained in the cover is also controlled by a thermostat (6), and thus when the temperature reaches the desired point, the thermostat (6) gives the instruction to cut the supply of current to the resistor (2). The
resistor is provided with a conductor (4) extending to a terminal plug (5), connecting the resistor to the main power supply. The top cover of the toilet cover is denoted by (8). Fig.2 shows a perspective view of the cover according to the invention
mounted onto the toilet basin (9).
The invented cover may be mounted onto all
kinds of toilets.
1. A W.C. toilet cover, characterised by that its hollow interior is provided with a fluid heated by an electric resistor, whereby the cover attains a temperature such that the human body may touch the said cover without any discomfort being caused.
2. A toilet seat cover comprising a channel means adapted to contain a fluid within the cover and a supply means for the supply of a heated fluid to the channel means.
3. A toilet cover according to claim 1 wherein the supply means comprises an electrical resistance heating element.
4. A toilet cover according to claim 2 wherein the supply means comprises a fluid connection adapted to be connected to an external source of heated fluid.
5. A toilet cover substantially as described herein with reference to, and as shown in, the accompanying drawings.
6. Any novel feature or combination of features described herein.
