Abstract

The rod rest consists of two parts, the frame 1, and the removable drop arm 2,2a. The rest is driven into the ground and a fishing rod is then inserted over the centre of the frame and the end of the rod butt is passed under the centre of the drop arm. The angle that the rod is desired to be held in is then determined by moving the drop arm either up or down the frame. When the fisherman "strikes" at a fish, the upward movement of the rod butt allows the drop arm to drop away from the rod thus freeing the rod from the rest. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Securod rest The securod is a fishermans rod rest, made of metal, designed to support a fishing rod securely in any angle desired.
The rod consists of two component parts.
The frame (see drawing Fig. 1) and the removable drop drop arm (see Fig. 2) the two parts are attached by sliding the legs of the frame through the two holes in the cross section of the drop arm.
After being driven into the ground a fishing rod is then inserted over the centre of the frame and the end of the rod butt is passed under the centre of the drop arm.
The angle that the rod is desired to be held in is then determined by moving the drop arm either up or down the frame.
When the fisherman "strikes" at a fish, the upward movement of the rod butt allows the drop arm to drop away from the rod thus freeing the rod from the rest.
The securod is different from other rests in that it holds the rod securely at an angle to the water and the angler needs the use of only one rest. (Two rests are used in many cases at the time being)
CLAIMS The securod Rest, is an anglers fishing rod rest, that supports and securely holds, a fishing rod by the butt end, at any desired angle to the water by use of the drop arm.
