Abstract
208,552. Oesterreichische Daimler- Motoren-Akt.-Ges. Dec. 14, 1922.. [Convention date]. Controlling-apparatus, arrangements of transmission gear in conjunction with.-The blocks 4 of a brake for the steering-wheels of vehicles are actuated by the depression of a wedge 7 by a rod 5, guided axially in the steering-pivot 2 and moved longitudinally by a tappet or cam 6, located in a recess in the steering-pivot. The wedge is carried by springs 9 also attached to the blocks 4, and is guided by the casing surrounding the steering-pivot, whilst the member 6 is carried on a shaft 10 located in a sleeve carried by the member 2 and mounted eccentrically with respect to the axis of the rod 5, so that it acts centrally on the rod.
