Abstract

Combined open fire-places and cooking-stoves; convertible close and open fire-places; combined solid-fuel and gas stoves.-In a combination open fire-place and range the gases pass beneath and up the back of a boiler to flues surrounding an oven o, the side flues f being also utilized for heating hotclosets n arranged at each side of the oven. The flues f are formed by removable partitions p provided with cleaning doors q which are so arranged that they are concealed by the doors n' of the hotclosets n.The hot-plate covering the fuel space b is formed of two parts h<1>, h<2> which are either slidable laterally beneath fixed hobs i or, as shown in Fig. 5, hinged and provided with downwardlycranked portions h<5> adapted, when a closed fire is used, to lie beneath the hobs i. Plates x are hinged to the back-plate of the stove and may be either pushed inwards to lie against the backplate or swung outwardly to the position shown in Fig. 1 where they form sides of additional hotclosets l provided with doors m. On each side of the fire is a forwardly-projecting hob r which may be fitted with a gas ring, grill or the like.
