207,114. Hetherington & Sons, Ltd., J., and Horridge, J. May 11, 1922. Combing-machines. -The nipper arm 8, Fig. 1, is actuated by an eccentric 2 on the comb cylinder shaft 1 adjustably connected to an arm 5 on the nipper rock-shaft 6. An arm 7 and link 9 connect the shaft 6 to the arm 8 and the arrangement is such that when the nipper is withdrawn from the detaching-rollers 10 the arm 7 is horizontal or passing a dead centre so as to give a longer dwell during the combing-operation. The upper nipper jaw is mounted on a lever actuated by an adjustable cam mounted on the shaft 6 and oscillating with it.
