Abstract

207,054. Stevens, F. T. Dec. 9, 1922. Cutting slices in succession.-A combined meat-grip and last slice holder comprises a plate 1 slidable on a shaft 3, the face of the plate having hooked spikes for holding the last slice and one edge and the bottom of the plate 1 having serrations 5; and a curved bar 6, pivoted to the plate 1, having spikes 7. A knurled headed spindle 8, secured at one end to the bar 6, is slidably mounted in the plate 1 whereby the bar 6 is angularly and horizontally adjustable relatively to the plate 1. When in use as a last slice holder the plate 1 nests under the bar 6 and is locked by a pin 10 engaging with a hole 11 in a lug 12 on the plate 1, and a pivoted catch 13 engaging with a notch in the spindle 8. When used as a grip the catch 13 is released and the bar 6 is pushed forward, the teeth 5 and spikes 7 then engaging the meat. A roller may be provided on the outer lower edge of the plate 1.
