Abstract
206,944. Green, A. Aug. 22, 1922. Switches, quick-action.-The operating-arm a and the contact-arm b are connected by deadcentre springs g and rest by knife-edges in V notches in pillars c fixed to the base. The arm b may either fit somewhat easily in the V notches so that it presses evenly on the two fixed contacts, or as shown in the Figure, it may carry a separate yieldingly-supported bridge-piece h. The piece h is attached by spring blades j to a bent-back portion of the arm b and is pressed into contact by another portion of the arm b. To open the switch the arm a is raised but a notch m in a latch-piece k holds back the arm b till the end q of the arm a engages the tail n of the lever k and effects release. In the open position of the switch, the part s of the lever k forms a stop for the arm b.
