Abstract

A method of obtaining phtalonitriles consists in subjecting xylol to oxidizing ammonolysis at a temperature of 340 to 480`C in the presence of a catalyst of the following composition in% by weigth: antimony oxide: 1-25; bismuth oxide: 1-20; vanadium oxide or: molybdenum oxide: 0.2-15, iron oxide: 0.1-25, carrier: balance.
