Abstract

A toy comprising two objects 10 and two strings 13, 14 passing through the objects whereby the latter can slide end to end of the strings by two players pulling the ends of the strings apart. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Toy This invention relates to a toy.
It has been known to provide a toy consisting of an object like a ball having a bore through which pass two strings whereby the ball can be slid from one end of the strings to the other by two players, pulling the ends of the strings apart. This toy lacks continuing interest so that the players quickly lose inclination to play.
According to the present invention two objects are provided on the strings. This has the result that one player causes his object to slide rapidly towards the other object and to collide with it so that the impact drives the second ball towards the other player with considerable velocity. This provides a much more interesting occupation than with a single object.
The objects may each be made in two hollow rounded shape halves attached together, one half of each having a thicker wall than the other, the two thicker walls being arranged on the strings to collide with each other.
A constructional form of the invention is illustrated by way of example in the accompanying drawing wherein: Figure 1 shows the toy in plan view; and Figure 2 shows a sectional view of the toy.
Two objects 10,11 have two strings 13, 14 passing therethrough so that the objects can slide along the strings by the ends being pulled apart as shown in Figure 1. The ends of the strings may be provided with handles e.g. rings 16,17.
The objects are made in two hollow parts 18, 19 (Figure 2) the wall of part 19 being thickerthan the part 18 and the two parts being arranged to face each otherto provide the required impact and ricochet effect. The sound of these objects clacking together also adds to the interest. The parts 18, 19 are attached together by adhesive or otherwise.
The toy provides a much more interesting occupation than with a single object. With a single object, the ball will only slide from one end of the strings to another by two players pulling the ends of the strings apart. However, by using two balls, the player will need some technical skill when playing the game. If the force is not enough, the player cannot cause his ball to collide with the other and drive it towards the other player. On the other hand, if the force is too much, the two balls will slide rapidly towards the other player and hit his hands.
Altogether playing with the two objects uses the force of impact and the inner structure of the two balls helps to produce better effects. Besides, operating two balls is of course very different in effect from playing with one only.
1. A toy comprising two objects and two strings passing through the objects whereby the latter can slide end to end of the strings by two players pulling the ends of the strings apart.
2. Atoy as claimed in claim 1 wherein the objects are each made in two hollow rounded shape halves attached together, one half of each having a thicker wall than the other, the two thicker walls being arranged on the strings to collide with each other.
3. A toy as claimed in claim I or 2 wherein the strings have rings on their ends.
4. Atoy as claimed in claim 1,2 or 3 contained in an approximately spherical hollow two-part container, the two parts of which are readily separable and easily reconnected.
5. A toy substantially as described and substantially as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
