Abstract

205,013. Igranic Electric Co., Ltd., Curtis, A. H., Wright, S. R., and Brunning, E. J. Feb. 27, 1923. Transformers. - An intervalve transformer comprises a rectangular laminated iron circuit 2 carrying the windings 1, and two ferrous or non-ferrous metal plates 4 arranged to support and shroud the transformer parts, the plates being made with part-cylindrical indentations 6 to receive the windings. The plates are formed with flanges 9 at the sides and top, the top flanges being adapted to engage grooves 11 in a terminal panel 12. The plates are clamped together by bolts 5 which do not pass through the core laminations. The lower portions of the plates may be turned outwards as shown at 10 to provide supporting feet for the transformer, or they may be turned inwards and provided with separate feet. The windings are interlaid with cotton and designed to have a natural frequency outside the audible range. Small additional laminations 2a may be placed between the centre arm of the core and the windings.
