Bulbs; reflectors and screens within bulbs.- In an electric indicating or signalling lamp for aeroplane or other use in which a fixed reflector or mask is mounted within the bulb to cut off light in certain directions, the reflector or mask is carried solely by a supporting-device which is seated on are-entrant tube formed in the bulb. In the form shown, the mask c consists of a domed cylinder partly cut away and having a reflecting internal surface. It is held in standardized position with respect to the filament by arms d and a collar e which fits the inturned tube b of the lamp. Additional support may be given by wires h passing through the collar and around studs f on the tube b. The arms d may be adjustable for bringing the mask to the standard position, or the mask and collar may alternatively be made integral and to gauge. The mask shown is suitable for use in aeroplane port and starboard lamps, but other forms are described for use with head and tail lamps and for giving light in an upward direction. The bulb may be enclosed in a " stream-line " casing or may itself be of " stream-line " form as shown in dotted lines.
