Abstract
The solar collector allowing the direct conversion of thermic energy received into electric energy combines the advantages of a solar cell with those of a conventional solar collector of which the construction is solid and cheap. It comprises a thermic column consisting of any number of thermo-elements (18) connected in series. One of the contact points (16) of each thermo-elements is heated by the solar radiation absorbed whereas the other (24) is cooled by circulation of a fluid (28), preferably, water. The collector can be a plate collector wherein the thermal column is composed of a plurality of juxtaposed pairs of short wires of appropriate material (20, 22).
