202,318. Bourichon, F., and Bourichon, G. Aug. 11, 1922, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Packing-discs and rings for stoppers. - In a closure for bottles and other containers, the mouth of the bottle &c. is provided with a support for a packing-ring or other leak-preventing means, and the stopper is so formed that it does not deform the packing-ring &c. when it is pressed thereon. A packing-ring 3, Fig. 1, shaped to fit a recess 2 in a bottle neck, is engaged by a stopper 4 formed with a flat lower face and pressed upon it by toggle-lever mechanism 5. The stopper 4, Fig. 4, may be formed with a cylindrical or conical extension 7 which projects into the bottle neck, and the packing-ring and recess 2 may be made conical. In another form, the packing-ring is disposed outside the neck, and the stopper is formed with a depending circular flange. A packing-disc 10, Fig. 6, located in a cylindrical or conical recess in the stopper 4, may replace the packing-ring, and, when the disc is seated on a recess in the neck, it may be separate from the stopper, a tab being provided.to facilitate its withdrawal.
