Abstract

A press, particularly for printing and/or embossing stationery, comprises a platform 4 and an arm 5 pivotable about a hinge 6 having an over-size hinge pin 7 so that it is permanently stiff in operation. The platform 4 preferably carries a soft support 14 for the stationery whilst arm 5 carries a mounting block 15 for an exchangeable printing plate 22 or composed type. An ink ribbon 23 may be included. The stiff operation of the hinge improves accuracy of registration and means that only one moving part is required. <IMAGE>
