Abstract

A wrist watch has a case in one end of which there is mounted a watch glass (14) and which comprises a case back portion (10) and a tubular portion (8) having an internal flange (8b) provided with a plurality of cutouts which extend to the inner periphery (8e) of the flange; a movement (7) which is mounted within the case and which has a plurality of external projections (7a) which underlie said internal flange (8b), the projections (7a) having dimensions smaller than corresponding dimensions of the cutouts; and resilient means (9a) mounted within the case and disposed, directly or indirectly, between the case back portion (10) and the movement (7) to force the movement (7) into engagement with the rear face of the internal flange (8b). The watch is assembled by introducing the movement (7) into the case through the said one end thereof, passing the projections (7a) through the cutouts, and effecting relative rotation between the movement (7) and the watch case so that the projections (7a) underlie and engage the internal flange (8b). <IMAGE>
