Abstract

To avoid relative displacement of its electrodes due to mechanical shock or high temperature a capacitative displacement transducer comprises means 9 moveable relative to two electrodes, as 8 and 7, to vary the capacitance between them, the electrodes being mounted within housing 10 by members 4, 5 permitting relative movement between the electrodes and the members and springs 12, 18 urging the electrodes and members against one another. The spheres 4 and 5 are preferably made of ceramic material or sapphire and arranged in groups equiangularly spaced at 120 DEG and arranged in cup-shaped depressions in the end walls of electrodes 8, 6 and 7, support plate 3 and support rings 11 and 19. <IMAGE>
