Defoliation compositions for the defoliation of crops such as potatoes, hemp, alfalfa, rape, flax, tomatoes, soya beans, peppers, peas, sunflower, cereals, clover, cotton, vines and sesame, as well as tor general defoliation in nurseries and of trees, comprise a defoliating aggregate amount of a) a herbicide and b) an activating amount of a solvent as used in the metallurgic industry for the extraction of metals. l
