Abstract

A jointed manipulator having first and second arms 3,4 carries a holder 5 along a linear locus by the movement of the second arm 4 being related to the movement of the first arm 3, and a limited play mechanism 50 acts to change the direction of the locus sharply at its ends for short distance B-D and E-F, and to provide a degree of resilience against shocks. <IMAGE>
