Abstract
201,979. Taylor, A. W. Feb. 3, 1922. Garment racks. - Consists in modifications of extensible garment racks of the type in which a moving carriage bearing a pair of rods is provided with rollers engaging both edges of a fixed rectangular rail mounted on the wardrobe ceiling. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the rods e are mounted below the fixed rail a and carry a handle d at the outer end, while the movement of the upper roller h on the carriage is limited by resilient buffers r<1>, s<1> mounted on the rail. To prevent twisting of the carriage, either the rollers or rail may be grooved or stepped, while in another form, Fig. 8, two spaced rails a are employed, each having a pair of coacting rollers p, q; the overall depth of the arrangement is in this case reduced by placing the upper rod e between the rails.
