Novel compounds selected from the class of compounds having the structural formulae <IMAGE> wherein R1 is H, alkyl, alkenyl or alkoxy and wherein R2, R3, R4 and R5 are H or alkyl and the total number of carbon atoms of R1 to R5 combined is 6 or less and the dotted lines indicate carbon-to-carbon double or single bonds with the limitation that only one of the dotted lines can be a double bond, which are useful as perfumes or as components of perfumes.
