Abstract

An irrigation emitter comprises a housing cap 6 adapted for attachment to irrigation lines, the periphery of the housing cap being joined to a housing base 1 and forming therewith a chamber having an inlet 10 from the housing cap and an opposed outlet 4 through the housing base. The chamber retains an emitter element 13 secured between the housing cap and base adjacent the periphery of the chamber, the emitter element extending diametrically across the chamber between the inlet and outlet, and forming with the chamber wall of the housing base and outlet a momentary flush flow passage at the beginning and end of an irrigation cycle and also forming therewith a drip flow passage during the irrigation cycle. The emitter element may include a closure 21 for the inlet having the effect of reducing the duration of flush flow. <IMAGE>
