Abstract

A ventilator for a room comprises one or more damper blades movable to increase the ventilation in response to an increase in the temperature sensed by any of two or more sensors and to decrease the ventilation in response to a decrease in the temperature sensed by any of the sensors. One of the sensors is for mounting internally of a room and one for mounting externally The blades may be panels of a louvre window. The ventilator may include a fan, heater and/or humidifier. Fig. 1 shows a rear view of a ventilator with a hit-and-miss damper 5, actuating levers 7 and temperature sensors 9 and 26. Fig. 7 is a section B-B showing the damper 5, a coil 4, fixed baffles 13, 14 and a channel 2 for fitting over a glass window. A pivoted baffle 16 with a deformable nylon finger 20 acts to provide a generally uniform air flow. The sensors are preferably cylinders filled with an expansible material, linked hydraulically to a single slave cylinder for effecting damper blade movement. <IMAGE>
