Abstract
A timing mechanism for a pyrotechnic device comprises a casing in which is mounted an inertia motor driving an escapement wheel having a retarding anchor through the agency of a step-up gearing. The anchor (10) is pivotally mounted on a central barrel (12) secured to the casing and having a central bore (13) into which can be introduced a pyrotechnic detonator, the said anchor having two cheeks (11, 11a) between which the escapement wheel partially projects, the teeth on the escapement wheel co-operating with the pallets on the anchor provided between the said cheeks. This mechanism is suitable for use in projectiles and can include an acceleration released shutter (19) which normally blocks a flame duct (15) extending from the central bore (13). <IMAGE>
